This used to be a community blog, now we just use it for a podcast feed for our weekly worship gatherings (but we left the old stuff here in case you want to browse). Email us if you want to know more, come for a visit, invite us your way, or just gab. Our website has a lot of information and some pictures of the people, places and things that make up the VC tribe Our sometimes-updated podcast feed for Weekly Worship Gatherings:Archives |
FridayTry this
Grab a book... be random
In true postmodern form, try this. Most recently from Adam: 1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 23. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the sentence as a comment on my blog. 5. Post the text of the sentence on your own blog, along with these instructions. (If you don't have a blog, just post it in my comments for fun). Here is Matt's: "Jesus had thrown himself upon the wheel of history and, though he reversed its course, he was crushed by it." - Tony Jones, Postmodern Youth Ministry Here's mine: "It is impossible, therefore, to move from some kind of sanitized, unideological, "pure thought" to its application to events in the everyday world." - J. Hey VC,
If you participated (in any way) Via Crucis :: Immersion, I'd love to get some feedback. Either post a comment here, email me, or go to the team-space and post a comment. What was good about Via Crucis? Where did the Spirit show up? What can we do better at next year? What didn't work at all? Tell us a story about your (or someone else's) experience at the event? We'll also be having a Thank You gathering for all those who helped make Via Crucis happen. It will probably be on April 23rd @ the Brownhouse (details forthcoming). -------------------------------- MondayLeadership Roundtable
A series of roundtable discussions is being planned for every Saturday between April 24th and June 19th. We’ll gather from 10am-noon at 1757 Mills Avenue in Norwood (the Brownhouse, next to the VC auditorium).
Each discussion will be facilitated by people from VC and other area networks who have relevant knowledge and/or experience. The first discussion, scheduled for Saturday, April 24th, will be on Boundaries and Pastoral Care/Mission, and will be facilitated by Kevin Rains and Aaron Klinefelter. The full list of planned topics is (in no particular order): 1. Boundaries and Pastoral Care/Mission 2. Kids in the House Church 3. Tools for Leading (resources for Bible studies, “Must Read” lists contributed by network leaders) 4. Spiritual Gifts and Prayer 5. Birthing a New House Church, Identity Development, Evangelism 6. Group Dynamics and Integrating New Folks in the House Church 7. Active Listening, Conflict Resolution, Support/Accountability 8. Leadership in a Post-Modern Culture Attendance is based on interest – so feel free to attend as few or as many weeks as you wish. Because there may be some reading recommended in preparation for each week’s discussion, please e-mail Angie (aaferrell@yahoo.com) with the Saturdays you’d like to participate (you can respond by number). Reading “assignments” will be e-mailed when possible. There is no required cost to participate, but donations will be appreciated to help cover the cost of child care for those who need it, making copies for any articles, etc. used by discussion facilitators, and for some light refreshments each week. Hope you can join us! -------------------------------- CNN.com - Couple arrested after 'Passion' fight
Dear Vineyard Central,
